Our Attorneys in San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico
In all our matters, Antonio Maldonado and William Markham chart the underlying strategy and perform the essential legal analysis. If the client agrees in advance, we sometimes associate with other attorneys in our larger matters or delegate certain simple tasks to a junior attorney who performs the work at a lower hourly rate under the direct supervision of Mr. Maldonado or Mr. Markham. We associate only with attorneys who have excellent backgrounds and meet our professional standards.
Mr. Maldonado is the firm's lead attorney for transactional work and business immigration, and he also employs two associate attorneys, other attorneys when appropriate for specific assignments, and a team of excellent paralegal assistants.
Mr. Markham is the firm's lead litigator, and he also supervises our litigation group, which employs an “of counsel” attorney who has senior experience in major litigation matters, a lead associate attorney, and a lead paralegal assistant, whom Mr. Markham has personally trained. Our litigation group also engages other attorneys and paralegal assistants from time to time for specific assignments in certain larger matters that require larger staffing or specialized knowledge.
John Schlaff is "of counsel" to our firm. He handles litigation matters and trials in Los Angeles, and from time to time he collaborates with Mr. Markham in certain larger litigations that our firm handles in San Diego and elsewhere in California.
Our lead paralegal assistant is Jennifer Ordorica, who joined our firm in 2006. Ms. Ordorica is no ordinary paralegal, but rather a licenced Mexican attorney who has chosen to work in our California litigation group as a paralegal assistant. In this capacity, she helps us to compile and organize the evidence that we use to try cases, and she provides us with invaluable assistance at trial and in a broad range of pre-trial and post-trial procedures. Ms. Ordorica holds a law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. In addition, she has completed extensive training in civil procedure and the handling of evidence in state and federal court (the California court system and the US federal district courts). A dedicated professional, Ms. Ordorica is completely bilingual in English and Spanish.
In addition, Mr. Markham sometimes collaborates with other attorneys in certain of his larger matters, and he can readily assemble a team of first-rate litigators for the largest efforts that require more substantial staffing.
